Yeah, if only people would see that it's not the 'jews are teh bad d00ds' or 'gazans are teh terr0rists!'. Both sides suffer, and they could stop if only they got rid of the bastards that want the war.

Both sides are suffering, that is true...
However, there is one side stronger than the other and its using all means available to win, although it doesn't have to, because the facing threat is merely civilians and poorly armed soldiers...

Since it has all means available to win (like a fleet of zomg-F16's), why doesn't it do it? If it was a blitzkreig like wII and Poland, Gaza, hell, most of that area would have belonged to Israel decades.
And those poorly armed civilians are still rocketing Israel. Civilians? More like militia etc.

Israel could just take it, they don't. They could kill those hundreds of thousands of people but no.

IMHO, it's lose-lose, both sides suffer, both are guilty.

Well the blitzkrieg on Poland was a success for one day wasn't it? But look how it turned out later on...
Israel wont do that, they are smart, and causing a massacre, Holocaust, blitzkrieg, or whatever one can call it will only cause further problems for the Palestinians and for Israel. Remember, Israel's #1 ally, the US, is against such discriminative attacks...

Sure they are militia -although mostly are civilians and I stick to that belief- and all countries world wide have had a resistance to a new regime in their own country (like the Mujaheddin), its only normal..

And again, Israel is smart, it will not kill "those hundreds of thousands of people" because then they will be the "Hitlers"...

*sigh* Although I must agree, it is a "lose-lose", it is bad there, and I am just wondering why is the leadership not doing anything?!

It was a success from 1939 to 1945 if you ask me. And yeah, Germany took on the whole of Europe... while Israel can't take on some arabian countries (six-day war come to mind).

They could just impose severe trade restrictions, create a pseudo-oppositionist terrorist group, assassinate the leaders of Hamas and wait until Gaza just slowly falls apart.

What does Israel gain by battering a dust bowl? And leadership can't do anything if there are two leaderships. That's why there is war. Gaza, it seems, can't stop attacking Israel and Israel, it seems, can't stop defending itself.

I bet that Gazans would love to go for evening ride with their friends, while Israelites would love a walk in the park. But it's impossible for both of them.

The leadership can agree to meet and discuss a rational end to this massacure.
But Israel won't meet with Hamas or the PLO (they regard them as terrorist organizations) the only representatives of the Palestinian community...

It will always be impossible for both sides, its an ongoing war that is escalating.

So, as usual. No solution.

And it's mighty hard for Israel to talk to organizations whose aim is the destruction of Israel.

And now it's really escalating. I wonder if after some time Gaza will just get tired or run out of resources.
